PRESS RELEASE

Women Rock For Haiti

In a show of music solidarity and desire to mobilize resources for the Haiti relief efforts, JUSTUS announces it will host a two-night benefit concert at Brenda’s Double Deuce, 4304 Tytus, Middletown, Ohio on February 19 and February 20, 2010. Several local female music artists, comedians, and various other acts will perform.

JUSTUS, a dynamic acoustic guitar duo, is hosting the event in hopes of providing additional relief for the earthquake victims as they recover and rebuild their lives. Lead vocalist Jen Stamper highlights, “Hosting WOMEN ROCK FOR HAITI gives us the opportunity as artists to come together in music for those in Haiti who do not have a song of joy in their hearts. Music and laughter are universal and together we can make a difference.” Lead guitarist Tish Johnson notes, “When I watched the boy being pulled out of the rubble after being trapped for 7 ½ days and his arms went out, the smile on his face drew me in. I know all of the work is going to be worth it. I am honored to be amongst the wonderful women of music and this common goal.”

WOMEN ROCK FOR HAITI will showcase the talents of women in the community who desire to deliver a message of hope, love, and praise for the many precious gifts in all of our lives. The lineup will include a diverse array of styles, to include country, classic rock, and folk music. Confirmed acts include: JUSTUS, JADIS, WIZARD, CAFFEINE, SOMETHING SIMPLE, FROZEN FEET, Train to Willoughby, Donna Mogavero, Ellie Malchow, Michelle Bullock, Joy Hollon, and comedian Dana Austin. For lineup details, show times, and additional information, please visit “JUSTUS Rocks” on Facebook.

Plus!

Help the Donna’s “Spend the Night” album go gold in their lifetime! If you don’t have this album, it is a must for any hard rocker. This was the first album I owned by The Donnas. I was DJ-ing at my college radio station, when we got a “college CD sampler” of their songs from the album. My show, which was called “The Show That Rocks” was a show with a friend of mine where we would feature classic 80s cuts, women who rocked, and random songs that made no sense. Oh! I miss it now!

Anyway, as I was driving home, I popped it into my CD player, and was like “Holy Sh*t! This is amazing!” I instantly became a fan, and ever since have been. I got the chance to see them this past summer in Pittsburgh. The pictures are below, and I must say, the show brought down the house. It was at a small club in Pittsburgh, PA and there were about 500 people total there, including some young girls in front of me that couldn’t have been more than 12! I though to myself “Yes! This is exactly what they need to see and hear!”

Anyways, enjoy the pictures and BUY their “Spend the Night” album here! I recommend it on vinyl as always! Rock on!

Stephanie Rocks out with Green Day!

I found this and just had to share.

I don’t know if Green Day does this at all of their shows, but they pick someone from the audience to come up and play a song with them. This girl Stephanie does one rocking job with “Jesus of Suburbia!” Green Day knows it….Girls Rock!!! Go girl go!

What ticks me off though is the comments posted under the video. Things like “Whos the random fat chick” and “super fat but awsom!!!!!” WTF? Her body has  nothing to do with it!!!! She blows the crowd away. How many of you, just randomly pulled on stage could pull that off and not break down or freak out? To all the haters, F-U.
